Over the summer some of our member attended the clean energy fair held in Bozeman. This event was hosted by the Montana Renewable Energy Association (MREA) http://montanarenewables.org.
“The Montana Renewable Energy Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2000. We are businesses, individuals, families, and advocates dedicated to expanding Montana’s use of renewable energy in order to conserve natural resources, create jobs, and increase the independence and resilience of our communities. Join us!
Our mission is to expand the use of renewable energy in Montana, to affect public policy in favor of renewable energy, and to educate and inform the residents of Montana of the benefits and uses of renewable energy. Our focus is on-site and community-scale renewable energy such as solar electricity, solar hot water, and small wind generation.”
We are still working on our car so we didn’t have it available for display, therefore we decided to take the time to volunteer and meet other like minded individuals. We are hoping to maintain our relationship with the Montana community and show our support for all clean energy initiatives. During the event we were able to teach kids how to make S’mores using a homemade solar ovens, attend workshops, and talk with local solar installers.
